US Army, Automated Tank Gunnery Range, Fort Benning, Ga.:
Electrical Design for a fully automated battle tank gunnery range for
training of Bradley and Abrams tank commanders. Live 120mm ammunition
is fired at fully automated armor and infantry targets. Utilized
12470V medium voltage distribution and 480V secondary to remote power
centers. Provided power and communications to remote controlled
targetry. Employed halo and counterpoise lightning protection
systems.
U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers: Supervised
military construction at the U.S. Army Military Academy, West Point,
NY. Prepared cost estimates and enacting change orders assisting in
negotiating changes among architect, contractors and government.
Inspected mechanical and structural construction. Provided technical
assistance for hydrographic surveys and checked channel depths and
dredging work in New York Harbor. Collected and evaluated cost/
benefit ratio data for hurricane and flood control projects along Long
Island coast. Authored and updated feasibility reports.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Helicopter Hangar, Columbia, SC: Electrical design, including fire protection, for law enforcement building. Prepared bid specifications and drawings.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Inmate Quarters/Tracking Facility, Columbia, SC:
Structural, civil, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC design for garage,
office, and police dog kennels. Prepared drawings and specifications.
Southeast Arkansas Regional Detention Facility, Dermott, Arkansas:
Electrical and security design for a six-hundred bed, medium/maximum
security prison. Structural design of $10M correctional facility
utilizing precast concrete, reinforced concrete columns and slabs,
drilled pier foundations and reinforced masonry. Provided structural
budget estimate that came within 2% of actual cost.
Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, GA:
Electrical and mechanical design for 25-point, 100 meter, fully
computerized weapons range. Included powerful ventilation system for
exhausting heavily contaminated air at firing points plus lead
scavenging and removal in housing behind target butts. Targets are
computer controlled and contain speakers and strobe lights to simulate
a fire-fight. Range Master directs systems in his elevated booth by
means of a custom designed control panel that gives him total command
over all systems.
Jefferson/Varner Facilities, Arkansas Department of Corrections:
Structural design and performance specification for 200 man dormitories
for correctional facility. Provided engineering design to facilitate
competitive bidding on a pre-engineered metal building and complete
foundation and slab design for building.
